A woman who was being quesioned by gardaí about the death of a pensioner in Wexford has been released without charge.

A woman who was being quesioned by gardaí about the death of a pensioner in Wexford has been released without charge.

The 50-year-old woman was detained after the body of 84-year-old Walter Plunkett was found in the garden of his home at Ballyedmond on Sunday evening.

The investigation into his death was upgraded to a murder inquiry last night, after a post mortem revealed he had died from asphyxiation.

A file is now being prepared for the DPP.
