Man in court over Rathfarnham robbery

A 43-year old man is due to appear in court this afternoon charged in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin.

The incident occurred in the car park of Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on Butterfield Avenue shortly before lunchtime on Thursday.

A woman and a second man were also arrested but have since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

It is understood a handgun was used during the robbery but no shots were fired and nobody was injured.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken in the incident.
