Six people have been taken to hospital after a two car collision in Dublin early this morning.

Six people have been taken to hospital after a two car collision in Dublin early this morning.

It happened on Cloverhill Road near the prison just after 5am.

A number of those hurt are in a serious condition.

A man in his 30s was driving one of the cars, while a woman and four men aged in their 20s and 30s - were in the other car.

Three were taken to St James Hospital and three to Tallaght Hospital.

The road between the junction of Cloverhill and the Cherry Orchard roundabout and Cloverhill and the Coldcut Road is closed for a forensic examination.
