Woman charged with unusual driving offence

A Canadian woman has been charged for reading a book while driving 100km/hour.

Carmen Velocci, from Ontario, now faces careless driving charges because she was so engrossed in her book and couldn't put it down despite driving on a motorway in the Woodstock area and travelling at a high speed.

The 63-year-old speedster was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act, and Ontario Police were keen to remind motorists that "impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving will not be tolerated".
