Woman believed to have suffered spinal injuries in Aran Islands accident
Two people are believed to be seriously injured after falling in separate incidents today.
The Shannon-based rescue helicoptor earlier airlifted an injured woman to Galway University Hospital from the Aran Islands. The woman is believed to have suffered spinal injuries.
This evening, the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team has gone to the assistance of a fallen walker in the McGillycuddy Reeks. It is understood the man fell down a gulley in the Hag's Glen.
Elsewhere, a man suffering a suspected broken ankle after a fall on Mount Brandon was taken to Kerry General Hospital.
The coastguard helicoptor was unable to assist because of fog on the mountain, so 15 members of the Dingle coastguard stretchered the man down the base of the mountain to a waiting ambulance.
Valentia Coastguard Radio Station co-ordinated all three rescues.
