Man in court following Offaly drug seizure

A man aged in his 30s is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court this evening charged following yesterday’s seizure of cannabis at Geashill, Co Offaly.

Gardaí from Tullamore and the Garda National Drugs Unit had carried out a search at a house in Geashill, Co Offaly.

During the operation a grow house was discovered when Gardaí searched two sheds located at the rear of a house.

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of an estimated €280,000 were seized and a male in his 30s arrested.

The man is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996, at Tullamore Garda Station and is expected to be in court at 4.30pm
