Search underway after discovery of upturned speed boat
A massive search is underway on Lough Derg tonight after an upturned speed boat was discovered earlier.
The RNLI lifeboat from Dromineer is searching the area - while volunteers are also carrying out shoreline patrols.
The 20-foot speedboat was spotted upturned close to the shore near Garrykennedy on the Tipperary shore.
The alarm was raised at around 9.30pm and a search was quickly mounted.
The Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard and the Shannon-based rescue helicopter are currently at the scene.
It is not known whether there was anyone in the boat when it capsized.
