Forensics team to investigate Mayo warehouse fire

A team of forensic experts will today try to establish the cause of a major fire at a warehouse on the outskirts of Castlebar in Co Mayo.

The blaze ripped through Niland's Cash and Carry at Moneen Industrial Estate after staff had left the building yesterday evening. The alarm was raised at about 6pm yesterday.

It took five units of Mayo Fire Brigade more than four hours to bring the flames under control.

The building was extensively damaged in the fire, but gardaí say nobody was injured.
