Govt would 'seriously consider' sending Gardaí to Mauritius
The Justice Minister Alan Shatter has said the Government would seriously consider sending gardaí to Mauritius, if the authorities there asked for assistance.
Alan Shatter has also described the publication of photographs of Michaela McAreavey's body by a Mauritian newspaper as "appalling, unacceptable" and "indefensible".
He said he would expect any request for Garda help to investigate the murder of the bride, would be looked on "favourably".
However, he added that no such request has been forthcoming.
