Dáil committee: No jurisdiction to investigate Wallace tax affairs
The watchdog committee looking at the tax affairs of Mick Wallace has decided not to launch a full investigation into his company's under-declaration of VAT.
The matter will now be referred back to the Dáil.
The Committee on Members Interests met this afternoon to discuss the issue.
It said that it cannot establish jurisdiction to investigate the matter, and will not now proceed with any investigation.
A motion of censure against the Wexford TD remains likely however, with both Fianna Fáil and the Government previously indicating a willingness to do so.
