Kerry housing estate auctioned off for five times sale price

A housing estate in Co Kerry has been sold for nearly five times its sale value at a property auction in Dublin today.

The Annagh Banks housing estate in Castelmaine, Co Kerry, went on sale for €50,000, but sold for €235,000 at the Allsop Space property auction this morrning in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

Bidders fought for more than 15 minutes to get their hands on the 14-house estate which is spread over three acres.

Other properties for sale include a Kildare castle with a reserve price of €50,000, and a Merrion square townhouse in the capital which eventually went for €1,420,000.
