Woman dies in Donegal housefire

Gardaí in Co Donegal are investigating a housefire last night which claimed the life of a 40-year old woman.

The alarm was raised at about 9.30pm. The body of a woman was found in the hallway of the house at Dunmore Lane, Falcarragh.

It is understood the woman lived alone in the house.

Gardaí say there was evidence of a fire in the living room which had extinguished itself sometime earlier.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination. A post mortem is due to take place on the woman's body tomorrow.

Gardaí are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
