A woman in her 30s is in a serious condition in hospital this morning, after being struck by a LUAS tram in Dublin last night.

A woman in her 30s is in a serious condition in hospital this morning, after being struck by a LUAS tram in Dublin last night.

The pedestrian was hit at the Blackhorse stop - near the junction of the Naas Road and Davitt Road - shortly after 8pm yesterday evening.

She was taken to St James' Hospital where and her condition is being described as serious.

As a result of the crash, the LUAS red line service was stopped between Heuston Station and the Red Cow last night. However it is expected to run as normal this morning.
