President Higgins signs EU Fiscal Treaty into law

The EU Fiscal Treaty is now part of Irish law, after Michael D. Higgins signed the amendment into the Constitution.

The referendum, which took place on May 31, saw the Treaty passed by more than 60%. Five of the 43 constituencies rejected the proposal.
