Hundreds attend funeral of James Nolan
The funeral has taken place of James Nolan in Co Wicklow.
The 21-year-old from Blessington drowned last week while on a trip to the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland.
His body was found in a river after he went missing during a night out in the city of Bydgoszcz.
Hundreds of people packed into the Church of Our Lady in Blessington this morning for the funeral of James, while hundreds more stood outside, many wearing the green tops of Blessington FC.
The Chief mourners, the 21-year-old's father Jimmy, his mother Essie, brother Andy and sister Suzie, were joined by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny's Aide de Comp - Commandant Michael Treacy and Captain Louise Conlon - who represented the President Michael D Higgins.
The Polish Ambassador to Ireland, Marcin Nawrot, was also in attendance as was the Chief Executive of the FAI John Delaney, Republic Of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given and Claudine Keane, the wife of Robbie Keane.
