Clinton in Cork for Castlemartyr conference
Michael Flatley is expected to host former president of the United States Bill Clinton and 200 philanthropists for dinner in Fermoy tonight.
Insiders are saying the Riverdance star is determined to use the occasion to show Mr Clinton the best of Cork, having ordered lashings of the best food produce from the county.
Mr Clinton is in Cork as guest speaker for the Worldwide Ireland Funds annual conference which takes place at the Castlemartyr Resort from today until Saturday.
The conference organisers are remaining tight-lipped about details for security reasons, but the US Secret Service has been seen in Castlemartyr this week, checking out local establishments, leading to locals hoping he may do a walk around the village at some point.
Flatley and his wife Niamh invited the 200 conference attendees to dine at their home in Castlehyde this evening, which is believed to include Mr Clinton.
They have hired internationally renowned hospitality company Masterchefs for the occasion.
Managing director of Masterchefs Pat O’Sullivan declined to comment on the evening when contacted by the , saying his company’s policy was discretion for its clients.
