HSE re-hires 38 recently retired staff

The Minister for Health Dr James Reilly has said that 38 people were re-hired by the HSE after they took retirement in February.

The Minister for Health Dr James Reilly has said that 38 people were re-hired by the HSE after they took retirement in February.

When asked during Minister's Questions in the Dáil today about the cost of re-hiring the health professionals, Dr Reilly said the figures were "not yet available".

However, he said that those who were re-hired would not have been entitled to their full pension while they were working.

Minister Reilly also said that it was HSE policy not to re-hire retired staff members.
