Government to seek all-party motion of censure against Wallace
The Government is to seek an all-party motion of censure against the independent TD Mick Wallace.
However, even if the moves goes ahead and is carried, Deputy Wallace cannot be forced out of the Dáil.
The Wexford TD has been refused time by the Ceann Comhairle to make a personal statement.
He then resigned from the technical group, though the group's whip requested the Government make time available to Deputy Wallace to explain his tax affairs.
When Cabinet meets this morning, Ministers will examine the idea of a motion of censure, which is likely to be put to the opposition whips this afternoon.
The move would afford Deputy Wallace time in the chamber to defend himself.
