Men arrested in connection with Blanchardstown assault

Three men in their early 20s have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in west Dublin early this morning.

A 21-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after he was attacked by a gang at Fortlawn Park in Blanchardstown.

The victim had been sitting in a parked car with three other men at about 6.30am this morning when they were set upon by a group of men.

The car was taken by the assailants and later found on fire short distance away at Sheepmore Green.

The injured man is being treated at Beaumont Hospital.

Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone in the vicinity of Fortlawn Park or Sheepmore Green between 6-7am this morning to contact them.
