Gardaí issue appeal over body found at Cliffs of Moher

Gardai have appealed for the public to help identify a man whose body was recovered from the sea at the Cliffs of Moher.

The remains, discovered on May 22, had been in the water for about 24 hours.

An admission ticket for O’Brien’s Tower at the Cliffs of Moher and a Bus Éireann timetable, Galway to Doolin, were found on him.

A Garda spokesman said: “Extensive inquiries have been carried out here and abroad through our colleagues in Interpol but there has been no positive identification of the deceased to date.”

The dead man is white, approximately 30 years old, about 5ft 10in, is predominantly bald with dark hair on the side and back of his head, and had no distinguishing marks, tattoos or scars.

He was wearing a black rain/sports jacket, a grey hoodie with the word ’BROOKLYN 62’ stamped on the left chest.

Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.
