Mater site Children's Hospital proposal 'to cost €477m'

Construction on the new Children's Hospital and the new Rotunda Hospital on the Mater site is said to set the Exchequer back by around €477m.

The figures have been confirmed today by the three-hospital partnership.

Plans also include the Ambulatory Care Centre at Tallaght Hospital which will provide emergency, outpatient and day-care facilities on the southside of Dublin.

The new financing plan is based on a number of measures as well as the Mater's recent experience of building the new Mater adult hospital.
