Woman dies in tractor rally crash
A young woman has died in a crash at a vintage tractor rally, gardaí have said.
The 22-year-old was driving a tractor at the charity event at Kilmainhamwood, Nobber, Co Meath, when it veered off the road.
It is understood she is from Kilmainhamwood.
Another young woman, in her 20s, who was a passenger was also injured.
Gardaí said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, which happened shortly before 5pm.
A Garda spokesman said: “The tractor was one of a number taking part in a charity tractor run when the collision occurred.
“There was no other vehicle involved in the collision.”
The driver was pronounced dead at Navan General Hospital.
The passenger was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where her injuries are not thought to be serious.
Investigators at Navan Garda station have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
