Elderly pair killed in Cork road accident

Gardaí are this evening investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N22 close to Lissarda village in Co Cork.

The two-car crash took place at 6.25 pm.

The female driver and the male front-seat passenger of one car were fatally injured. Both are believed to be in their 60s and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two adults and two children travelling in the second car were taken to hospital but are not believed to have been seriously injured.
