Gardaí investigate sword and knife attack on Limerick pensioners
Three elderly siblings are being treated for serious injuries after been attacked with a sword and knives by a gang overnight.
Two masked men entered the pensioner's home in Ballyluddy, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, and assaulted the 74-year-old man and his two sisters who are aged 66 and 72.
All received cuts to their heads and limbs and the man also suffered a head injury.
They are being treated at the Midwestern Regional Hospital.
Gardaí have described it as a particularly violent incident and have asked anyone with information to contact the Gardaí at Bruff.
