Voter turnout for the EU Fiscal Treaty referendum is slow in the north-west of the country.

Polling stations opened at 7am this morning and will remain open until 10pm tonight at 43 constituencies.

In Bundoran, Co Donegal, turnout is at just 8%, whilst in Tubbercurry in Co Sligo, it is at 3%.

Elsewhere, it is at the 5% mark in Carlow-Kilkenny and it is around 6 % in the Ennis and Shannon areas of Co Clare.
