SF: Bruton comments 'unacceptable'

Sinn Féin has said it is clear the Government could ask the electorate to vote a second time on the Fiscal Treaty if it is rejected later this month.

Yesterday, Jobs Minister Richard Bruton was forced to retract comments he made suggesting this may be the case.

In a statement last night Minister Bruton said he dealt badly with a question during a debate on Today FM and may have caused confusion.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny last night clarified that no second vote would be held, but Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty has said Minister Bruton's comments are "unacceptable".
