Men held in connection with ramming of Garda car

Three men remain in Garda custody in Longford this morning, in connection with an incident which saw a Garda Patrol car and two private vehicles rammed yesterday evening.

The incident happened on the N4 between Longford and Edgeworthstown.

Gardaí were pursuing the men as part of an ongoing investigation into dangerous driving incidents in the Mullingar area, when a car was rammed into the garda patrol vehicle and into two private cars.

No one was injured during the incident.

The men are currently being detained at Longford garda station.
