Varadkar pledges no hike in clamping fees

The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar is ruling out a rise in clamping release fees.

There had been speculation that Dublin City Council wants to increase the release fee by as much as 60%.

However, Mr Varadkar has promised new laws to govern all public and private clamping.

The fees will be set in bands and he said, pending that, no fee hikes will be allowed.
