Gardaí hunt armed robbers in Co Clare

An armed robbery has taken place this evening in Ennis, Co. Clare.

Three raiders entered Ladbrokes at around 7.40pm, as staff were closing the bookies, and they threatened the workers before stealing a substantial amount of cash.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

The thieves made their getaway in a silver Audi - registration number 09 D 24 105.

Gardaí in Ennis are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
