Olympic Torch touches down in Ireland ahead of schedule
A flight diversion meant that the Olympic Torch touched down in Ireland today - six weeks ahead of schedule.
It was being carried on a plane from Orlando in Florida to London Heathrow - when it diverted to Shannon to refuel.
The first person that held the torch was airport duty manager Natasha Naughton-O’Keeffe from Gort in Co. Galway - she joked that the surprise visit 'certainly made the evening shift a lot easier.'
