A 45-year-old man is due to be charged in London today with conspiracy to bring cocaine into the UK, after the drugs were found off Dunlough Bay in west Cork more than five years ago.

It was Ireland’s biggest-ever drugs haul and had an estimated value of €440m. Bales of cocaine were found in the water after the boat being used to transport it got into difficulties on July 2, 2007.
