Tánaiste to contact evicted couple

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore said today that he was distressed and saddened at the eviction of an elderly couple from their home in his constituency.
Brendan and Asta Kelly were forcibly removed from their multi-million euro home in Kiliney in Dublin.
It happened after Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, formerly Anglo Irish Bank, served notice of eviction.
The couple said that they are trying to work out a payment plan with the bank.
Speaking in Dublin this afternoon, Minister Gilmore said that he will make contact with the couple to see what can be done.
"Well, I was very saddened and very distressed to see the pictures on the paper this morning about that couple," he said.
"They live in my constituency. They hadn't been in contact with me before yesterday's events, but I am making arrangements, through my constituency office, to talk with them."
