Waterford event to mark centenary of Third Home Rule Bill

The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will today mark the centenary anniversary of what has been called one of the most important pieces of legislation in Irish history.

The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will today mark the centenary anniversary of what has been called one of the most important pieces of legislation in Irish history.

Minister Jimmy Deenihan will open proceedings at an evening commemorating the Third Home Rule Bill of 1912 in the Large Room in Waterford's City Hall at 8pm his evening.

Speaking before the event, Minister Deenihan said the Bill kick-started "the most momentous" decade in modern Irish history.

Also attending the event will be Britain's Minister of State for Northern Ireland Hugo Swire.
