Electric Ireland deal to result in 100 sales jobs
A sales firm is to create about 100 jobs after it secured a contract to bring in new customers for Electric Ireland.
Field Management Ireland (FMI) will be responsible for directly selling electricity and gas supplies to residential consumers for the company, formally ESB Electric Ireland.
Charley Stoney, FMI Ireland managing director, said the contract was a result of good training for staff.
“We have spent many years perfecting the training, development and deployment of our direct sales teams,” he said.
“As a result, we have at our disposal over a thousand highly trained sales staff available countrywide, who can deal with a variety of customers including the residential market.”
FMI also held a contract for field sales in 2011.
Liam Molloy, Electric Ireland general manager, said the company had been hugely impressed by the quality and the professional attitude of the direct sales team.
“Electric Ireland made significant gains in 2011 exceeding sales targets nationwide and we look forward to continuing our partnership with FMI in 2012,” he said.
The company said it hoped the new partnership would increase Electric Ireland‘s market share in the residential gas market.
