Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information about a double murder which took place in Co Louth last week.

The bodies of two men discovered inside a burning car in Co. Louth last week, have been positively identified.

The remains of two men were discovered inside a burning car at Ravensdale Forest in Dundalk, last Wednesday, March 7.

The men have been named as 31-year-old Anthony Burnett from Croke Villas, Dublin 3, and 25-year-old Joseph Redmond from Ballybough House, Ballybough, Dublin 3.

They are believed to have been shot dead before the car was set alight.

Both men were last seen in Dublin in the early afternoon of Wednesday, March 7.

Investigating officers are anxious to trace their movements until the discovery of their bodies at approximately 11pm.
