A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of another man in Belfast city centre.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of another man in Belfast city centre.

Christopher Mackin, 31, was gunned down in the College Square North area last week.

Mr Mackin, a father of one, who lived near the scene of the attack with his mother, was shot a number of times and died a short time later in hospital. He was known to police in relation to past crimes.

Earlier this week a husband and wife appeared in court charged with the murder.

Charles Stephen Valliday, 40, and Julie-Ann Valliday, 35, of Powerscourt Place, Belfast, were remanded in custody.
