Gardaí hunt Monaghan jewellery thieves

Gardaí are searching for three men who stole diamonds and gold jewellery from a jewellery shop in Castleblaney, in Co Monaghan yesterday.

The men entered the jewellers shortly before midday.

The owner was pepper sprayed after a struggle with the raiders who smashed the display cases with a hammer and made off with a quantity of jewellery.

Gardaí say the raiders made off in a black Citroen Saxo vehicle, registration plates 00 D 67315, in the direction of the Keady Road.
