Candidate for 'Ireland's stupidest criminal' gets seven years

A drug addict who was caught by gardaí after he took a photograph of himself on a phone which he then left behind in the house he had just burgled has been sentenced to seven years with the final three suspended.

Judge Patrick McCartan said Jason Glennon (aged 34) "cannot be too far behind taking the title of Ireland’s stupidest criminal", referring to how another robber was recently described by another judge.
