AA warns householders over leaving sensitive data on home computers

Tablet and laptop computers are among the most common items to be snatched by home intruders, according to a new survey by AA Home Insurance.

The insurer is encouraging householders to think carefully about what they store on their computers, with the survey indicating that some 16% of people store financial information on their PC - potentially exposing themselves to fraud and identity theft.

Meanwhile 55% said they seldom, if ever, remove saved passwords or PIN numbers from their browsers, with many indicating they were unaware of the importance of doing so.
