Teen sought over Belfast motorbike hijack attempt

A teenager tried to hijack a motorbike from a woman in rush hour traffic, police have said.

The reported incident happened at Great Victoria Street in Belfast at around 5.20pm on Thursday.

The 29-year-old woman said she was stopped in traffic on the busy city centre route, when she was threatened.

A young man, in his late teens, pushed her on the shoulder and warned her to get off the bike.

The woman said she found a gap in the traffic and made off.

The teenager was described as being around 5ft 5in and of thin build.

He was wearing a black hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and a scarf over his face at the time, according to the report made yesterday.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to get in contact.
