Divers searching for the body of a man who fell into the River Lagan after a night out drinking have found today a body.
Joby Murphy, 20, entered the water off the bridge at the Lagan Weir in Belfast last month after spending the evening at the nearby Odyssey entertainment venue.
Family members have been holding regular vigils at the site since.
They have also called for an end to cheap drink promotions in the wake of Mr Murphy’s death.
A PSNI spokesman said: “Police divers have recovered the body of a man from the River Lagan this afternoon, Saturday 25 February.
“Police have notified the family of Joby Murphy, however formal identification of the body has not yet taken place.”
