Two due before court in Donegal assault investigation

Two men in their 30s are due before Letterkenny District Court in Donegal today following a serious assault at the weekend which has left a man fighting for his life.

The 41-year-old victim was attacked at Glenard Park in Letterkenny shortly before midnight on Friday night.

He is being treated at Letterkenny General Hospital for serious head injuries, thought to have been caused by a slash hook.

Two men have been held at Letterkenny Garda Station since their arrest on Saturday.

Gardaí recovered a number of weapons during follow-up searches over the weekend.
