Man jailed for attempted rape of ex-girlfriend

A man has been sentenced to seven years after he attempted to rape his ex-girlfriend and threatened to drown her in her bathtub in Co Tipperary.

“I love you, I want no one else,” he told his victim as he banged her head off the ground during the hour long ordeal. The woman was saved when the father of her children arrived to drop them off at her house.
