Talks will reconvene at the Labour Relations Commission today between management and workers at Lagan Brick in Co Cavan.

Both sides will consider a report by an independent assessor in order to try to resolve a row over redundancy payments.

Twenty-five employees attached to the trade union SIPTU have been blockading the facility in Kingscourt since it closed on December 25.

SIPTU organiser John Regan said workers also believed that the brick manufacturing company had a viable future and could re-open.
