Neighbours urged to check on elderly as cold snap set to hit

A severe cold snap is predicted by Met Éireann tonight with temperatures dipping to as low as minus 6 degrees in places and ice, frost and freezing fog in all areas.

Charities representing the elderly are advising older people in particular to keep warm in their homes over the coming days.
