Gardaí release man after Kilkenny assault

Gardaí have released without charge a man who was arrested for questioning in connection with an assault in Co Kilkenny on Saturday night.

It happened in the early hours of the morning, on Michael St in the city.

The victim was brought to Saint Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny, where he is being treated for head injuries. He is said to be in a stable condition.

A 19-year-old man who was questioned at Kilkenny garda station has now been released without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
