Man seriously hurt in Fermoy assault

Gardaí are investigating a serious assault at Fermoy, Co Cork, which took place yesterday evening.

At approximately 8.30pm, a 40-year-old man sustained serious head injuries during an altercation at a house in the Rathcarrig area of Fermoy. He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
