Search resumes for missing Tit Bonhomme fishermen

The search for two fishermen still missing after their vessel sank off the coast in West Cork two weeks ago has resumed this morning.

More than 200 volunteers were involved in search operations at Union Hall yesterday after the families of the missing men appealed for experienced divers to help.

Skipper Michael Hayes and Egyptian Saied Aly Eldin are still missing, while the bodies of three other crew members were recovered last week.

Coastguard spokesperson Dave McMiler said conditions are good today.

"Conditions are very good, with light winds, and are expected to remain like that today," he said.

He said more than 55 divers would take part in the search today, supported by 40 search units on the water and the Shannon-based coastguard helicopter.
