Gardaí investigate fatal stabbing in Wexford

A 27-year-old man has died after being stabbed in Wexford town.

He was attacked by a man after answering a knock at the door of his home in Hollyville Heights just after midnight.

The victim was brought to Wexford General Hospital, where he later died.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and the State Pathologist is expected to carry out a post mortem later.

Investigating officers are urging anyone with information to contact Wexford garda station.
