Point Village could create 2,000 more jobs: Crosbie

More than 70 jobs are to be created with the opening of a new cinema in Dublin in the coming months.

'Point Pictures' will be located near the O2 venue.

Chairperson of the Point Village Harry Crosbie said that while times were still tough, he believed the tide was about to turn.

"We're hoping that we will also get a couple of cafes and bars to open around the cinema. We're hoping that in a year or 18 months from now, when the site is fully finished, there could be up to 2,000 new jobs here," he said.

"We think that the worst of the recession is gong to be over (within that time frame) and we want to be there when it turns."
